Hi!
My name is Emilia Pawłusz. I am a weaver, educator and digital content creator based in Gdańsk, Poland.
I design and hand weave bands using a technique called tablet weaving.
I work mainly with wool, which I sometimes dye using plants and minerals.

What is tablet weaving?
Tablet (card) weaving is an ancient craft of making strong, narrow, and decorative bands.
The process involves a set of four-hole tablets that can be turned together or individually, resulting in various designs, including geometric patterns and intricate motifs. In most cases, the design is made with the warp while the weft threads remain hidden.
Different styles of tablet weaving include the ‘Snartemo’ technique and weaving with thread omission, also known as the ‘missed-hole’ technique. An interesting option is weaving with an extra thread which forms an additional pattern on the textile surface.
